Description: Lost wax bronze casting (edition number 2 of 25) mounted on a double round pedestal of pure, Belgian black marble. Dark olive and black patina.

"The original piece from which this was cast was a direct-welded sculpture. The face, made from a network of baling wire, was inspired by a life-mask made of terra cotta. The head was formed from welded bronze rods which created textures and ground to a smooth finish. She is dark and moody, a cross between ancient and futuristic. This piece is a portrayal of the internal intensity of women and the silent suppression they have endured." FS
